The Magic Flute

Join us at the Charterhouse for a magical evening of opera in a Tudor setting.

14th September 17.00-21.30

Mozart’s fantastical final opera The Magic Flute visits the Charterhouse on the evening of 14th September in a brand-new production from acclaimed opera company Wild Arts. This will be a unique and special event for a select audience of 100, showcasing this charming performance against the backdrop of our historic buildings and gardens. Guests will begin with a black-tie reception of champagne and canapés in our Master´s Court, which will lead to the first act performed in the Tudor Great Hall. A formal dinner with wine will be served in the Norfolk Gardens during an extended interval, after which guests will return to the Great Hall for the second act.

Directed by Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne, and Opera North regular James Hurley, and featuring an all-star cast of singers and players (led by Natasha Page, Richard Dowling, and Gareth Brynmor John), this surreal tale of lovers, bird-catchers, and operatic queens offers an electrifying evening of magic, romance, and timeless music.
